Day 4 - Today was a day of rest. It was a Sunday. Went to church in the morning, Baptist church. It was interesting that the church is in Germany, but none of the members are germans.. hehehe... the members come from all over the world, malaysia, england, indonesia, south africa (I think), america, etc... Small little cosy baptist church. In the evening, we ran around in the back garden, played football, played frisbee... nice relaxing day
You know what I liked about this little town of Darmstad... on Sundays, the town centre is like a ghost town!!! No shops are opened, only cafes. They really make sure people rest! Wish we have something like that in Malaysia!

Day 2 - Mainz, Germany
|
|
Day 2 - We made a train ride from Darmstad to Mainz. There are so many churches in that little town alone. After a few steps, you'll see a big cathedral size church. I really wonder how they choose which church to go. Different churches has their own architectural design, depending on whether it's catholic or anglican or whatever. The designs in the churches are sooooo elaborate.. until every church you go into, it feels the same. I was amazed at the same time sad, because these churches are turning into museums... not many people go to church anymore

Day 1 - Darmstad, Germany
|
|
Sorry it took me so long to upload our photos of our trip to Germany/Poland. So here is the first batch.
Mathias was to attend a conference in Warsaw, Poland. I tagged along So, since we are going to fly so far, we might as well drop by Germany and visit the country at the same time. We stayed at our friend's house, who lives in Darmstad, Germany. Had a great time there.
9 days altogether, 5 in Germany and 4 in Poland. I hope I have the time to upload all of them.
Enjoy!

Internexia's Futsal Day, Cyberjaya
|
|
Last Wednesday, 20th September, my company, Internexia got together for a futsal game. It started with excitement, and then energetic, then it slowly became tiring, and it ended in "pain" (only me lah).
Well.... tiring because, I am really out of shape (I only exercise like twice a year ok...), and gasping for air after 5 minutes. And guess what... after 40 minutes of trying to kick the ball.. I kicked my colleague's foot...really really really really hard. Then we're like... "OW!.. sorry sorry sorry...". Then he continued playing. Then I was like... hmm... "something's not right". I tried stepping on my right toes with my left foot. Something's really really wrong... So I walked to the side of the court, took off my shoe and socks... my Big Toe nail...PURPLE!!!!
Don't worry, I didn't put a picture of my big toe. I'll show you a nicer one soon.
But other than that... we had a great time together. It's nice to play together once in a while to release stress and get to know your workmates better.

Aaahhh... Lang Tengah;
Blue seas, clear waters, sunny skies;
Great people, great diving, great holiday!
Yes, Mathias and I went to Lang Tengah, situated in between Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian. We had been planning to go for another diving trip for a very long time. Coincidently, Leila found a dive instructor, Mr Richard, working nearby our office in Cyberjaya. Planned for a dive trip…and on our way we go, to Lang Tengah!
We took a bus from Putra bus station at 10pm on the 23rd June, and reached Kuala Terengganu at 5.30am in the morning. The resort van came and picked us up to the jetty, and there we took a boat to Lang Tengah. Boat ride took an hour. Reached the island at about 10.30am.
We did a total of 7 dives, 2 on Friday, 2 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. On Friday evening, it rained. So when we went for our first dive on Saturday morning, there were so many jellyfish! Luckily we were all wearing full dive suits.
So many many many underwater creatures. Giant moray eels, nurse shark, leopard shark, giant sting ray, lion fishes and of course lots of nemos, and little shrimps that our dive leader caught for us to play with underwater. Even saw a sea snake. Type that in your Google images, it’s the black and white coloured sea snake. Yes! Very poisonous!
Made great friends there too. This is what I love about diving other than seeing fishes in the sea, you get to meet new people, make new friends, talk about fish even though we eat them during meals, ahh… I miss diving already!

F1 2006, Sepang International Circuit
|
|
2006 Formula One Malaysian GP was held from 17 to 19 March 2006. This is the first time SIC offered a very cheap hillstand ticket for the price of RM 50 for 3 days!!!!
Being so excited about the good deal, we (8 of us) bought the ticket and went to watch the race.
The qualifying day was alright. From our seat (Hillstand E), we can't see much but we still can feel the excitement everytime an F1 car passed by us. The new qualifying system was a total confusion so, we can't really know who actually got the pole till we checked back the internet.
The race day was not so fine. Because there would be a meeting driver session which so happened to be Kimi, we have to go as early as 11.30am to queue to see him. Because our parking and the mall area is really really far, I put Flora and the gang to see Kimi while I waited at the hillstand while watching the support race - Porsche Carrera Race.
At 2.00pm, Flora came back with some pictures of Kimi and we waited till 3.00pm to watch the race. The start was alright, unfortunately Kimi was hit and retired after only half a lap. At that point, we were not in the mood to continue to watch the race anymore. To add to our woes, there are a lot of insect/bug disturbing us and we all got attacked by the bug. The allergy reaction due to the bug was quite bad that we decided to leave 40 minutes before the race was over.
It was a wise decision too as the traffic was building up. Fortunately we manage to have a smooth traffic home. It was not a good GP to watch for few reasons. One, Kimi retired so early. Two, bug attack. Three, can't really see much from my seat. I think this would be my last visit to SIC to watch live. I prefer to watch the race on TV instead.

"Valentine" weekend in Langkawi: 12-14 February 2006
|
|
Thanks to Air Asia, free 2,000,000 seats, Swiss Garden and AAM that made this trip possible. We went on Sunday 12 Feb and reached Langkawi at around 340pm. We have made arrangement with AAM car rental panel and we got ourselves a Kancil (brand new, mileage only 1900) for RM 50 per day. We also had made arrangement with Hotel Helang through Swiss Garden, which entitled us 2 free night stay at Helang Hotel. The hotel is only 5 minutes walking distance from the airport.
Upon arrival, the car rental company greeted us at the airport and handed us the car and the key and gave us a map of Langkawi. And then is up to us to decide where to go. But mother nature has another plan for us. It rained heavily at around 4pm. So we went to the hotel to think of what to do next. Since we have the car, we decided to familiarise ourself with places to go for tomorrow since time is precious. We have to spend every minutes and seconds wisely as there are so many places to visit and to do it in one day only. So we took the map and go around to familiarise ourselves. But we did visit one place, the largest shopping complex in Langkawi. Nothing much though but at least we visited some place. Hehehe....
Day 2. Woke early, had breakfast in the hotel. Foods is from last night's pasar malam. First stop, Langkawi Underwater World. Saw lots of aquatic animals and managed to see the feeding of seals and penguin. Next, we went to Lang Square to see the big eagle near the jetty. After that, we went to Langkawi Crocodile Farm, on the way, we stopped by Pantai Pasir Hitam, Langkawi Hotspring and Langkawi Bird Paradise. At the crocodile farm, we are just in time for the crocodile show and feeding time. After the farm, we went to Oriental Village and sat on the Cable Car to the peak of Langkawi (705m) and the view was magnificent. The air is cooling and the cable car ride was quite something. After the ride, we went back to the hotel and basically we have circled the whole Langkawi Island. Not knowing where to get the best seafood, we asked the hotel receptionist and she recommended a restaurant near Laman Padi area. Had a fantastic dinner. This is the end of day 2.
Day 3. Went to checked out beach area and took some pictures. Then went to visit the Mahsuri Monument, which we thought is free but have to pay RM 3 per person and RM 2 per camera. So we abandon the plan to go in and took a picture outside instead. Then it was checkout time and au revoir Langkawi. Is a nice place and we really enjoy every moment of it. Hope to visit Langkawi again as we didn't have time to do island hopping and some scuba diving. We'll leave that for our next trip.

A1GP,19th & 20th November 2005,Sepang International Circuit
|
|
19th November, Saturday - A1GP has finally come to Malaysia Sepang International Circuit. To Mathias excitement, he decided to buy tickets to go and watch the race. He managed to indirectly influence his wife into following him to watch the race too.
So off we went with a friend to Sepang International circuit to watch the qualifying race on Saturday. Upon reaching the circuitat 10am, the atmosphere was not as happening as F1, but nevertheless, this 3 motor race fans went to take their seats. To their happiness, they could sit anywhere they liked.
When the A1 cars came out for practice laps, whenever the Malaysia car whizzed by, the trio screamed and cheered and waved whatever was in their hands at the car hoping to give the driver a glitter of support.
At 11am, the trio received their VIP passes for the day to visit the pit lane. Feeling very important, they walked pass nearly every pit, and pretended or tried to recognize drivers of other countries. Upon reaching the Malaysian pit garage, they saw Alex and Fairus, both Malaysian drivers outside, but not one dared to ask them for a photo.
After the pit garage visit, the trio went back to the main entrance and got themselves a lunch set, costing a whopping RM20 each. Nevertheless, it was delicious! After lunch, the trio went back to the pit garage again, this time, Flora managed to build up the courage to tap on Fairuz's shoulder and asked him whether he could take a photo with her. He smiled and said ok. And later on, continued to watch Alex Yoong drive out the pit and back again.
20th November, Sunday - Race day. Mathias, Flora, Wee Lern and Kenny, went to Sepang International Circuit to watch the A1GP race. And to their surprise, they could enter the grand stand. So they thought of a wonderful plan. First, they will see the starting at the grandstand facing the starting line, then, after the cars go off, they will run to the other side of the grandstand to watch the rest of the race, and run back to the main grandstand again to watch the end. And that's what they did. And they all watched happily ever afternoon.
